Warwickshire Junior Champion Club

The Warwickshire Junior Champion Club was hosted at Kenilworth Golf Club on the 4th October 2026. 21 Golfers participated representing 7 different clubs. The weather was perfect for good golf, however, in general the course proved the victor. There were two outstanding scores from Matt Dale of Kenilworth with 39 points and Joe Randle of Nuneaton 37 pts. This resulted in a tight contest for the overall winners with two scores to count from each club.

In the end Kenilworth prevailed, for the third consecutive year, with 66 pts from Copt Heath 65 pts and Nuneaton 64pts. The Kenilworth team of Matt Dale, Thomas Taylor and Dan Erskine will therefore go forwards to represent the county at Woodhall Spa next year.

Our thanks to Kenilworth for hosting the event and to our starters and referee.

We look forward to returning to Kenilworth who will host again as victors.

  • Unification of Warwickshire Men's Golf Union and Ladies Association

WARWICKSHIRE CLUBS VOTE IN FAVOUR OF UNIFICATION Golf clubs across Warwickshire have unanimously voted to unite the Warwickshire Union of Golf Clubs (WUGC) and the Warwickshire Ladies County Golf Association (WLCGA) at a Special General Meeting held at West Midlands Golf Club on Friday 25th September 2026. Representatives from 15 Warwickshire golf clubs attended the meeting, with a further 11 clubs submitting proxy votes in favour. The unification of WUGC and WLCGA is a significant step forward for amateur golf in Warwickshire and has the full support of England Golf. Under its new Warwickshire Golf brand and the formation of Warwickshire Golf Ltd, the organisation aims to expand participation opportunities and provide a single support platform for all member clubs across the county. The new board, chaired by Mark Reynolds, is developing strategic objectives for implementation from 1st January 2027, alongside ambitious and exciting plans to grow golf across the county. Mark Reynolds said: “Unification has required a huge amount of extensive work and communication between WUGC, WLCGA and England Golf over the past two years, and we are delighted that voting clubs across the county gave it their unanimous support at the Special General Meeting. “Unification will create one organisation with a single, stronger voice for all Warwickshire golfers. It will improve efficiency, deliver economies of scale and support inclusive growth of the game. “The hard work now begins as we implement our progressive plans, prepare for the 2027 launch and bring men’s, ladies’ and junior golf together under one umbrella.” Nominations are now invited for the role of President Elect for Warwickshire Golf from members of golf clubs in Warwickshire.
