Warwickshire Men's Matchplay Final

Rob Bardsley and Rob Tovey, as with our other finalists, contested a hard fought match at a blustery Walmley on October 25. The middle part of the morning round was the defining point of the match where Rob Tovey made a number of errors which led to Rob Bardsley leading at the half way point by 6 up. After this Rob Tovey was always chasing the game and whilst he closed the gap to 3 early in the afternoon he was never able to get closer. The afternoon session was full of high quality golf in the conditions, with both being under par, however, Rob Tovey was unable to rein in Rob Bardsley who ran out the eventual winner by 5&3 when birdieing the 15th hole.
