The Midlands Seniors Qualifying was held at a breezy and very firm Moseley on the 4 August. There were 10 counties competing with Warwickshire represented by Steve Creed, Warren Bladon, Mark Warren, John Lawrence, Karl Smith and Roger Neale.

Warwickshire got off to a strong start in the morning with the best two scores of the morning overall being delivered by Steve Creed and Warren Bladon with Level par 70 and 74 respectively.. They were ably backed up by the remaining members of the team meaning that Warwickshire went in to the afternoon session leading the field by nine shots.

The afternoon got off to a strong start when Steve and Warren again returned 72's whilst Mark Warren returned a 73. The chasing pack weren't however giving up and returned some excellent scores in the low 70's meaning that the overall result as ever was dependent on the last player out on the course for both Worcestershire and Warwickshire, Staffordshire having fallen by the wayside.

Fortunately for us the Worcestershire player couldn't significantly improve his teams score and the Warwickshire team went on to win by two shots. The team will now represent the Midlands at the County Finals at Trentham Park on the 6-8 October. Many congratulations on a sterling effort.

The best score on the day for any team was recorded by Steve Creed with a 142 (+2) followed in second place by Warren Bladon with 146 (+6) and Mark Warren who came 7th with 149 (+9).
